RESULTS OF:

BEDFORDSHIRE BUSINESS WOMAN OF THE YEAR 2009

Held at the Sculpture Gallery Woburn

Jenny Tomsett, President with the Winner - Andrea Rodney, Hone-All Precision Ltd

Jenny Tomsett, President with the Winner - Andrea Rodney, Hone-All Precision Ltd

Andrea was chosen first of all for her passion and commitment to her business and its ongoing success. She is also a great example of what an “Ambassador for Women” competing in a male dominated industry can achieve, and finally that she is constantly looking for a new challenge.

Andrea's feelings about the award...

“I am so honoured to have been chosen as Bedfordshire Businesswoman of the Year. To be recognised by such an outstanding and inspirational group of women means so much to me as in my day to day role, my dealings with ladies are limited. I hope I can be a great ambassador and continue to earn the title throughout 2010.”

my role......

My husband Colin started the company in 1981.
I joined the company in 1994 bringing only a little sales experience.
Over the past 15 years, we have grown the business from a team of 5 to a team of 26.
During that time, I have learned every aspect of the business and tried to learn as much as I can about the Manufacturing industry within the UK.

For the past 10 years, I have become actively involved with a variety of different organisations and manufacturing panels in the hope of effecting positive change within the industry including feeding into Manufacturing Strategies for the region, training needs and awards, Government lobbying groups and trying to raise the image of Manufacturing in the hope of attracting youth into the industry.
